Daniel Murphy is a set designer & art director, based in Brooklyn, NY.

Studio Email: danielseanmurphy@gmail.com

Daniel studied illustration and sculpture at The School of Visual Arts, focusing primarily on paper art. Upon graduating, Daniel gravitated towards the photo industry, where he worked as a photo producer & editor at Conde Nast and WSJ. Realizing he wanted to pursue work as a production designer within the industry, he began assisting set designers and still-life stylists. In 2012, Daniel established his studio and has been fortunate to collaborate with industry-leading fashion and still-life photographers.

Daniel is regularly asked to concept, design, and execute large-scale campaigns and installations for beauty and fashion clients. He can take a 360-degree approach to assignments and consider additional uses for social animations, VMs, packaging, and window design.

Beyond paper, Daniel regularly explores new materials and has executed many campaigns with a wide range of media, including clay, wood, plaster, plexi, and fabrics. Daniel’s refined design sensibility and exacting sculpting abilities translate to whichever material is used for the assignment.

Daniel’s studio is located in Industry City, Brooklyn.
